How Long Does It Take A Check

Cevallos and a particular event

Lina H arie Cevallos, a prominent Colombian blogger living in Argentina, and promotion of a particular event called Piola Barcamp.

"The interesting thing is that Pio.la seek to reinvent the way today's events, using the integration of some web tools," says Lina Cevallos.

Piola What?
Pio.la is a virtual conference platform and open to Latin American innovators. We create events where anyone through online video (Streaming), you can register to perform their own live performances for 20 minutes.

Where did PiolaBarcamp?
The idea of \u200b\u200bPiolaBarcamp born after FOWA in Miami, when Cesar Salazar, Carlos Cobos, Mauricio Pastrana, Alejandro Corpeño, Roberto Hernan Aracena Brevé and met and saw the need to keep in contact so online. So I decided to create a space called Piola, name of the restaurant where they were. All put the money to buy the domain and created a wiki. On this very day it was decided that the meetings would be 23 of each month at 7:30 pm ET.

How was the Piola evolve?
The first edition was held on May 23, 2009, were used for different streaming channels like Ustream and livestreaming. From the beginning Hernan Aracena was the one who continued with the idea and then went Lina Ceballos, who support efforts to disseminate and promote the event. Since that there have been four editions which have involved hundreds of people in Latin America, who have been kept informed from the Wiki, Twitter account and Facebook page. That is, that in these meetings has remained the same philosophy of offline Barcamp carried out in the world, which proposes that any person can share their knowledge as an unconference.

What is new?
Next to the fifth edition, was the need to rethink PiolaBarcamp and make it a more friendly event for the audience. This will set PiolaLab, an experiment that brought together people interested in creating a platform called Pio.la. In this participated 10 people, who during the 5th and 6th of September, so online, participated in the first stage Pio.la creation and implementation of a business plan. This was followed by a second stage of completion, which involved only four people who currently are active members project.

Pio.la. Team The team is comprised of a group Piola four, current members and those who are responsible for the design, development, dissemination and management Pio.la.
